What Students Talk to Us About

There's no problem too small. If it is taking up space in your head, it is worth talking about.

Exam and results stress

Boards, NEET, JEE, CUET, semester exams or a drop year. Work on the pressure, the fear of results and the comparison with others.

Career confusion

Wrong stream, unsure about your course, or stuck between what you want and what is expected. See career and life direction.

Loneliness in a new place

Hostels, PGs, a new city or a new country can feel isolating, even with people around. Talk about homesickness, culture shock and making real connections.

Pressure from family

Marks, rank, marriage talk or career plans. Learn how to talk to your parents without it ending in a fight.

Anxiety and panic

A racing heart before exams, blanking out, or constant worry. Learn practical ways to calm your body and mind. See anxiety counselling.

Burnout and low motivation

Procrastination, poor sleep, feeling numb or exhausted. Find a pace you can keep up. See stress counselling.

Why Students Choose Online Counselling

Built around how students actually live, study and talk.

Chat when you can't talk aloud

Sharing a room or living with family? Chat sessions let you open up without anyone overhearing.

Times that fit around classes

Book a slot that works for you. Some counsellors offer late-evening sessions up to midnight IST.

Your college isn't told

If you book yourself, nothing is shared with your college or coaching centre. Sessions are private and never recorded.

How Student Counselling Works

From booking to your first session in a few minutes.

  1. Choose a counsellorRead profiles, or let us suggest someone who suits what you're going through.
  2. Pick chat, audio or videoWhatever feels easiest. You can change it next time.
  3. Book a timeChoose an open slot, including evenings, and pay online.
  4. Talk privatelyA 45 to 60 minute session. Share only what you're ready to share.

Under 18? How Teen Counselling Works

Students aged 13 to 17 can get counselling too. Choose Teen (age 13 to 18) when booking. A parent or guardian completes the booking and gives consent.

Your counsellor talks with you, not about you. At the start, they will explain what stays between you and them, and when a parent would need to be told, for example if your safety is at risk.

Parents: if you are worried about your child, you can book the first session for them and the counsellor will guide you on how to support them at home.

Questions About Student Counselling

If your question isn't here, message us on WhatsApp.

Can I get counselling without my parents knowing?

If you are 18 or older, yes. You book and pay yourself, and nothing is shared with your family. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian needs to give consent and complete the booking.

Can counselling help with exam stress?

Yes. A counsellor can help you manage worry, panic and sleep before exams, plan your study time realistically, and deal with fear of results and comparison.

Do you have late-night slots for students?

Some counsellors offer late-evening sessions up to midnight IST. Open times change week to week, so check the booking page for current slots.

How much does student counselling cost?

The same as any MindHope session: ₹449 for chat, ₹699 for audio and ₹899 for video, including GST. 3 and 5 session plans cost less per session.

Can I use chat if I live in a hostel or shared room?

Yes. Chat sessions are text-only, so you can talk privately even when others are around.

Is this the same as career counselling?

Not exactly. We don't run aptitude tests. Our counsellors help with the stress, confusion and family conversations around career choices, so you can decide more clearly. See career and life direction.

I'm an Indian student studying abroad. Can I book?

Yes. You can book from the UK, Canada, Australia, the US or anywhere else, and talk to a counsellor who understands where you come from. Open times are shown in your local time zone, and prices are in Indian rupees with a small international card fee. See counselling for Indians abroad.

Will my college or coaching centre find out?

No. When you book yourself, nothing is shared with your college or coaching centre, except in the rare case where someone's safety is at risk. Sessions are private and never recorded.

You Don't Have to Figure It Out Alone

Whether it is one bad week or a whole year that feels heavy, talking helps. Book a session in a few minutes. New here? Learn how online counselling at MindHope works.
